BERRY NICE

I recently read an article in BAZAAR where Halle Berry was interviewed. She said a thought we all know to be true and I had to share.

The interviewer stated the following: Nahla is a beautiful girl---amazing, given her challenged parents. (this was obviously a joke)

Halle Berry replied: Let her be sweet because I believe beauty is as beauty does. My hope is that she is sweet and kind because no matter how beautiful you are, ugly ain't cute.
Now that's sparkle.

SWEET FASHION

Looking like dessert is a favorite look for me,, but it has to be balanced so it doesn't get too over-the-top confectionary. Cupcake fashion can be so much fun and be high fashion at the same time when you pair it with a cropped, worn in, jean jacket or a leather jacket. Remember, no prom hair or makeup allowed. In fact, a little black eyeliner would be just the right amount of icing on the cake.

TOMMY BOY

Wondering what to get the guy who has everything? So was I. But then I found it. The Booze Cruise watch by Tommy Bahama. I know he already has a watch but this one is sporty, colorful, waterproof and not too expensive. The perfect gift for a guy who likes to hang at the beach in the summer or for the dad who doesn't mind giving a bath now and then. Good boy.

CRYSTAL TIME

I can't help it. I have a problem. I'm a sucker for sparkle. Sequins? Crystals? Gems? Yes please! BUT, we're not talking showgirl here. We're talking light reflection amidst classic and refined. The Candela clutch adds just the right amount of sparkle when paired with the little black dress or the pale grey silk jumpsuit (you know you want one). No other sparkle required.

SPRING?

If you live in New England you'll be able to relate. One day Spring arrives. The next day Winter is back. And the next day and the next day and the next. There's only one way to make sure Spring is here and stays for at least a week. Buy some flowers. Rununculas are my favorite but all flowers have charm, especially when their backdrop is still leafless.

BABY MAMA-6 Weeks

Being pregnant does not mean you can't be fashionable. We all know this by now right? But sometimes it's just nice to get some ideas that are simple and easy to recreate at home with clothes you already have in your closet. No shopping necessary,, at least not yet. Welcome to our Baby Mama Series. We'll be styling our Mama-to-be (her 3rd, for the record) throughout her pregnancy, to hopefully inspire you and give you the confidence to pull off some great looks.

6 Weeks,, tiny bump emerging. Black workout leggings, long roomy top and old sweatshirt. Add some glitzy jewelry and sparkly flats,, great makeup and hair and you have a look. Comfortable and cute.

HURRAY FOR NORDSTROM

I didn't have my hopes up. Why would I, right? I mean,, Mall? Big department store? Suburbs? Suburb of Boston?? Doesn't exactly scream high fashion, right? Wrong. Well, sort of wrong. While it wasn't HIGH fashion,, it certainly was fashionable. And while there was food, drink, a band and a DJ, the sparkle was all about the rotating models posing as mannequins. They were the highlight, showcasing Spring's hottest looks up close and personal. Fashion has arrived to the Northshore. There goes your excuse for wearing sweatpants to the parent conference.

YOU SHOULD BE DANCIN'.......YEAH!

No you're not hallucinating. No, it's not the 70's and yes, I'm getting one. I'm serious. I'm definitely getting one. And I'm hanging it in my kids' bathroom. I would put it my living room if I didn't need actual light. I am in love with the disco ball.
I know its usual home is a dance hall with strobe lights and loud music but never mind that. Think of it as your sparkle bag with your classic dress. This is your sparkle disco ball with your classic beadboard beachy bathroom. Do you get it? Where are the BEE GEES when I need them??!

LOVE THYSELF

Really,, if you can't love yourself, who can you love? If you're tired of waiting for a romantic gift from a loved one, why not just give one to yourself? You know you're worth it and you know you deserve it. And on a super plus side,, it'll be exactly what you want AND it will fit.
The minute I saw this "Love me like a rock" ring by Isabel Harvey my heart skipped a beat. It's playful and fun but bursting with love. To thine own self be true.

IT'S ALL IN THE WRIST

When my best friend and I had our wedding,,, wait, let me rephrase,, when my best friend got married, and I was her maid of honor, I liked to think of it as "our" wedding because I was just as interested, if not more so, than the groom in all things pretty,, i.e. dress, hair, flowers, centerpieces. So when it came time to decide on the bouquets for the bridesmaids, I had a vision. Wrist corsages. Now before you go thinking they're just for old ladies or prom, think again. Wrist corsages can be edgy and flirty or traditional and sweet but they'll always go with your dress and will never go to waste. You can't ditch this baby at the bar or leave it in the ladies' room, and I promise you won't want to.

BIBBIDI-BOBBIDI-POUF

Adding a little spice to your wardrobe is important,, it's also important to add it to your home. You don't want to be a one note,, looking like you had the showroom "set" dropped off in your living room. Snore. If you're stuck on how to add that interesting element, here's an idea. A Moroccan Pouf by Calypso. Use it as a foot stool, or an extra chair, or just to fill in that empty space in the bedroom corner. Luckily you don't need a fairy godmother to get one,,, if only finding a prince could be so easy.

CALL THE DOCTOR

Need a summer shoe that is comfortable, i.e. flat, affordable AND looks good? Need one that you can walk your dog in and also go to lunch in? Need one that goes with everything you own? And want to throw a little nostalgia in there too? Dr. Scholls.
They did you right for every summer cook out, family lake getaway and ice cream sundae binge. And remember how easy they were to take off when you went to the roller skating party? Yeah.. me too. They will never go out of style and neither will we.
