CHASING FASHION

In a time where Tilda Swinton, Marion Cotillard and Jennifer Aniston are all considered "fashionable", it begs the question....what does "fashionable" really mean anymore?

Trends are so fast and furious, fashion so disposable, it's hard to keep up. Luckily you don't have to anymore. With fashion icons so polar opposite the message now is, everything goes as long as it's authentic and true to you, flatters your body type and lifestyle, and is never vulgar. Enjoy. Pressure's off.

Are you scared? Because I am. It wouldn't be so bad if she were the only one but unfortunately there are millions of them.

When are women going to stop trying to look like strippers? Fake hair, fake boobs, overly tan skin, cartoon makeup? This is not style, it's a punchline.

There's only one Barbie.. let's keep it that way. Clean it up and see how hot you really are.

I'm not trying to scare you (yes I am) but it might be a good idea (it's imperative) that some of you (all of you) see Food, Inc.

Now before you think I'm radical (maybe a little bit) about food, let me just say that I eat meat, I eat bacon and I've been known to scoff down a Big Mac and Supersize fries now and again. I would like to continue to do so, but I'd like to feel safe while doing it.

If you care about your health, your children's health, if you eat food sold in a grocery store, rent it tonight.

BLOG IN THE FAMILY

My daughter asked me if I would take pictures of her in the outfits she picks out. I said sure. She then asked if I would post them on my blog. I said I'd think about it... but knew I wouldn't..... no one wants to see pictures of someone else's kid.. especially not on a daily basis which is what she had in mind. We made a compromise. She now has her own blog. She's more opinionated than me when it comes to clothes and fashion and she's a lot braver too. Bag lady meets Jim Carey from Ace Ventura is one of her favorite looks. But a love for fashion is a love for fashion, whether you're 5 or 95. Here's to fashion for all ages.

I have no interest in bogarting Angelina's look but these earrings are hard to resist. They're not the same green as the ones she wore so you won't feel like a "style thief" if you sport them.
